Voluntourism in SE Asia

I just stumbled across a couple of great website resource for Voluntourism – the recreation of tourism combined with volunteering work for charities and non-profits. It’s called True Travellers. They have an impressive set of links for places around the world you can go to contribute some time and energy for the good cause. I thought I’d pull out a few good ones that are relevant to Stray Asia:

Stray Asia Voluntourist Stops in Laos

Stray Asia already makes a stop in at the Abundant Water organisation in Vientiane where travellers can learn how to make a water filter (also see the June newsletter for more pics). We also provide learning materials to a remote school in Laos called Ban Lad Khammune. As always we are looking to do more for the environment and make a positive contribution. Perhaps you could “hop-off” the bus at one of these locations and help out for a bit?
